Dear All.

Please let me congratulate you all on another successful season. I think it is very important that you all look back and enjoy the events of last season, as a lot of hard work and commitment went into making it all happen.

At the beginning of last season I was, like Scott and I guess a few other senior players in the club, both expectant and apprehensive of the season ahead. I was expectant of the first XI success in this season once more aiming to win a title. The apprehension came because of the fact we were trying to put out three league sides in a weekend and all I hoped for was to be able to fulfil those fixtures throughout the season.

Well not only did we manage to do this but we also managed success for the 2nd XI in coming runners up in Beds League Division 4 and the first XI managing to win Division 3 and stay up in the Division 1 Millman.

Many thanks here to Scott who had a bit of a thankless task at times in trying to find sides to compete in Millman Division 1 this season. He stuck at it and has already made headway into strengthening the side for the coming season; I would also like to thank Nick Stock for the sacrifices he made for the club this year. He stood up once again for the importance of the 2nd XI in the club. He took on the job of captain even though he could have walked into the Sunday 1st XI every week and I know we missed him here. I know the opinion here was amongst some club members that the 1st XI was strong enough but I would like to add that other people need to stand up if the club is to continue all round success. Nick has put a lot of work into the 2 nd XI over the last few years and it is fair to say we would not have a 2 nd XI without him.

The colts section again performed well this season and I hope this will continue. Many thanks once again to Kevin, Stefan and Ali as well as the array of parents that seem very enthusiastic to help out. This is a team that I am very much looking forward to joining by running the U12 in 2006 with the full intention of bringing some of the winning formula with me. .
